I took this image of a man praying during passover week. If you visit Jerusalem remember to wear pants if you are a man and a long skirt if you are a woman. All need some kind of head covering (ball cap, or skarf). Wear comfortable shoes because you are going to be doing a lot of walking.Photography is not allowed during the sabbath. I was able to shoot pictures with my black lens, but as soon as I pulled out a white L lens I was hassled and asked to stop.

I have been to Chichen Itza and i thought Mesa Verde had the same vibe. Mysterious Ancient ruins. The interesting thing is that all the ruins have not been found and people still stumble upon mummified bodies. - posted by

Very nice image. Mesa Verde was a popular vacation spot for my parents to visit when I was a child. I repeated the visits with my stepchildren when they were young. A place of awe inspiring mystery. - posted by

Dipictes a woman in a wheel chair. A later image 1265632 shows her walking around pushing the guy around. Should we use wheelchairs as "props" ?

Sorry missed your comments about wheelchairs as props because it is spaced down.
As far as props, there's nothing really wrong with it in the broad sense, but it's not real life. If the shot is used for advertising, issues can become more sensitive depending on the product it is used for. For instance, in a general lifestyle shot of a family, or a couple, perhaps showing a picnic in the park, I don't see a problem. Used it to advertise a product geared towards disabled and it may be a can of worms. It is really the company advertising the product who should make such decisions and the ad department or ad designer should be instructed accordingly. Someone who has been chairbound for a long time will probably be able to tell if it is propped shot. In the case of true news editorial, it could definitely cause problems.
So see my second paragraph in te original reply, yes deifinitely attempt to find true life models because it will add a nuance to the photos that the propped ones don'... More) - posted by

I think you missed a little bit of my question.
Restated, should we find real disabled people to model.
Think about Rob Lowe and all the trouble he has gotten into by depicting a black soldier. - posted by

This image was taken on a a very bright day at 800 iso. The sky looked very noisy. I found a simple trick for noisy skies, just select the entire sky and use Noise/Median (2-3) pixels to smooth out the jaggies.

Congratualations! I thought it was a good shot when I read your previous blog where you had concerns about the dark colours. - posted by

I really struggled with these dried chillis. I mean they are just too smoky and dark to really pop off the page.

Perhaps you could add some other ingredients in the background that have more color to them. Or better yet, some undried peppers. DeniseBeverly's suggestion of a colorful plate is something you could probably photoshop in fairly easily too. - posted by

maybe if they were on a colorful plate or a cutting board it would set them off and accent the textures and color?? - posted by

I know it is verboten to use your dog in stock photography. I was pleasantly pleased when this one made it through the review stage. it depicts my beagle running away from the huge mouth of a Australian Shepard. I like the composition in that there is definately a diagonal line and the flow is right to left. I might mirror it to go right to left just because to me right to left flow is more natural.

I have found it very difficult to find "acceptable" stock images from my previous images. The first issue is image quality my previous camera was a Canon Powershot s80. And while the images are very nice when blown up to 8x10, you can definitely see a difference in quality between the rebel Xti even with the kit lens. The second issue is content. I previously wasn't really shooting for microstock (I only became aware of this market in early January). So far, this is the only accepted image that I had previously shot that was considered acceptable for microstock.
