How do you deal your films?     posted on 3rd of january, 2008

When you finish taking a picture in film, how many steps will you take before it can be uploaded to DT?

I am quite nervous about this. I like take slides with Kodak 100VS. But it is really a big problem for scanning and digital darkroom.

Do you recommend any scanner or how do you deal you scanning results?

I will try to upload some pics taken in film later.

Hi, here is a link to my school at betterphoto, which gives ratings on scanners and film scanners: http://www.betterphoto.com/reviews/reviewItemsAll.asp?catID=28 and here are reviews for both types on cnet http://reviews.cnet.com/4566-3136_7-0.html?tag=brdcrmb I always search for user reviews before I buy almost everything!!! beautiful photos. I love the black swans, my favorite animal. - posted by Loveliestdreams on January 03, 2008

Film works?     posted on 29th of december, 2007

That's an interesting question I think. How many people use film cameras and upload the pics taken with these machines?

I got a Nikon F70. And I chose 17-35 not 17-55 for my D50, partially because of I need to use 1735 on F70.

Today, I get my new film machine. HasselBlad 500 CM. It's really an old guy. :)

I wanna get fun from it. And if I can make great pics and get benefit from it. That will be even better.

And, how about you? Are you using any film camera, or even 120 machine?

It's a pity that I don't have a scanner now. So I have quite a few films but I can not upload them. I will try to upload more pics taken in film later. - posted by Lzyspirit on January 03, 2008

What kind can we take and upload     posted on 24th of december, 2007

I noticed that in DT, the pics of people are more poplular. In fact, I think it is really difficult for me to snap some people and ask them for the grants. Right?

Till now, most of my pics are landscapes. I like travaling and got some pics. Hope you like it and buyers also like. :) After all, we come here for creating some benefits, right? For ourselves and DT too.

If you have any idea or suggestion, it is welcome for you to leave it here.

Thanks for your suggestion. This is a good idea. However, what I have to say here is about culture difference. In west, people may don't reject being taken photos. But in East, esp in China, if you shoot a passer, he or she usually hide his/her face under his/her hands. Even your friends, may not agree you sell pics with his/her portrait. That's a big problem. Take a look about the pics of Chinese in DT, you may find most of the persons in their portraits are their families. I will try your solution. Maybe it's the only thing I can try now. : ) And thanks for your kind suggestion again. - posted by Lzyspirit on December 26, 2007
Start by taking pictures of your friends doing what they enjoy. Give them copies so they can enjoy them as well and have them grant you the rights. This way it is win win and as you get better at taking pictures of people, you will not feel bad asking a stranger to let you take a picture. - posted by Tnotn on December 25, 2007
I clicked the "userful" tag and got a "Thank you". I ask for help here and now it becomes "userful". Really embarrassed. - posted by Lzyspirit on December 25, 2007
