My first 50 photos     posted on 6th of april, 2008

I am glad and happy that I have 50 uploads approved here in Dreamstime!

This is my last and 50th image:

What is fun is that I was just celebrating my 25th birthday when this "Moon and Stars" photo was approved :)

I will not write a new blog, when I get to the first 100 uploads, but I will write a little blog, when I have 500 approved uploads ;)

Best wishes

M.

A little help when choosing new camera or lens.     posted on 28th of march, 2008

Choosing a new camera or camera lens is usually not simple thing to to.

I have found a very useful web site, that you can use to compare photos made with different cameras and different camera lens!

So you can take the most out of your photos.

This site is pbase!

I hope you find this link useful.

Greetings!

M.

ETR (estimated time for review)     posted on 11th of march, 2008

Some days after uploading some new photos I thought that it is not easy to respond for photo requests made in Dreamstime message boards.

Let´s say that one designer makes a new topic that he/she needs a photo. When I make the needed photo and upload it, it takes sometimes almost a week when photo is online. many things can happen during 5-7 days.

I think that maybe daily upload limit for all users should be smaller so that the waiting time would be day or two. Not long ago I remember the daily upload limit was 100 images per day.

Right now my upload limit is 25 images per day. I would be happy even when my limit was for example 10 images per day, but if the waiting time was twice as small as now.

I don´t want ...

Exactly. On contact page, there's a field *Type of problem*, where you can select *Priority review*. And on the *Comments* field you can input your image ID and comment that this image is a response for a photo request, you can also copy and paste that thread address, where request was made. Good luck! - posted by Maigi on March 29, 2008
I think that you can send this e-mail by Contact Dreamstime support form. I will try this soon when submitting next photo for photo request! I let you know how it works, when I have tried this! Greetings M. - posted by Markogt on March 27, 2008

Just few thoughts about correct white balance ...     posted on 25th of february, 2008

I have read many articles and reviews about white balance in photographs. It seems to me that the main point is that it is important to achieve colors so that white on photograps has to look like neutral white on sunny midday.

And when lighting conditions are different, we should compensate this in our cameras or color tune photos later with photo editing software.

My opinion is that this may be true partially. I believe this is true in portrait photography and when shooting in daylight conditions.

This could be true when I take a photo in different lighting

conditions and if I want it to look like it was shot on a sunny day.

What is true in other cases?

I believe that photography one way or another ...

I totally agree. Sometimes the whole point is that what should be white, isn't white - it's grey or orangey or bluish. I was just thinking the other day that the world of commercial photography seems to want to exist in an "golden hour" light - which although that would be nice, isn't the way we humans can live. - posted by Amyemilia on February 25, 2008

Recommendations     posted on 21st of february, 2008

Be kind and recommend good web pages ;)

It would be cool to find the best photo related pages up from the net!By that I mean those pages that help you improve your photography skills and give a good review about new technology, tips.

I know there is this google thing and many other search engines. But internet is big and getting bigger every second. Many pages are just clones and many good sites are very hard to find.

It would be great if every one of You (who read this post) would recommend only one or two photo related web pages that you have find useful, and a little comment too - why recommended page is good.

I really like Flickr.com - it is a community based site where you upload and store your photographs. If you add a photograph to a group you receive comments and suggestions from other flickr members. It's good fun but I have also learnt quite a bit from the critiques i've received. www.flickr.com For products, reviews and tips I like http://www.warehouseexpress.co.uk - posted by Cleaper on March 07, 2008
Thank You Maigi and Jonnyreb! I add some my links too that I have found useful: www.pbase.com - useful sample photos made with different cameras and lenses www.photocritic.org - many useful tips and recommendations - posted by Markogt on February 22, 2008
If you use canon this is my favorite site for un-biased information on canon products (as well as some third party equipment). http://the-digital-picture.com/ And all of those posted by maigi I would have posted too but I was beat to it ;). Gabe - posted by Jonnyreb on February 21, 2008
