First images with the new lens     posted on 7th of october, 2007

I went on a trip with my girlfriend a few weeks ago, which was the perfect time to try out my new Canon 70-200 F4. I really loved the sharpness of the lens and different perspective the 70-200 range gave me. Shooting landscape with this focal range needs some practice though. The shallow DOF means you have to keep checking the F number, so that enough of the image is in focus. This resulted in some great shots, but also some out of focus ones due to operator error ;-)

Anyway, some of the images were approved and are now up on the site. I hope they will sell or at least that someone likes the shots. The one in the top right is from the new lens.

Bought a new lens     posted on 1st of september, 2007

After being slightly disappointed with the performance of the Sigma 70-300 APO, I decided to buy a new mid-range to short tele zoom. I especially didn't like the background blur (bokeh) of Sigma. Now, I'm convinced the longer focal lengths can produce very nice landscape photo's as well. You just need to think differently about how to compose your shot. With the longer focal lengths you get nicely compressed views. A nice change from the 'get everything in the frame' wide angle shots.

Anyway, back to the new lens. Being on a budget, all those nice 2.8 zooms from Canon and Sigma were slightly out ...

Starting to see some downloads     posted on 23rd of august, 2007

This month has been the first month for me to see some downloads.

Whether it's because my portfolio is growing, or because I've uploaded images that are more to the liking to Dreamtime's buyers remains to be seen. Guess I'll have to keep shooting and uploading.

Now if only this weather would clear up here in Holland, I could get out more and shoot more...

I am very happy for you to start getting sales. I know my day will come also, I will be patient and keep plugging away. Congratulations. Dave - posted by Dcwcreations on August 23, 2007
Never stop shooting regardless of whether you have sales or not. If not sales atleast one keeps learning all the time. - posted by Thefinalmiracle on August 23, 2007
