After being slightly disappointed with the performance of the Sigma 70-300 APO, I decided to buy a new mid-range to short tele zoom. I especially didn't like the background blur (bokeh) of Sigma. Although I started to appreciate the range of the 70-300, the image in the top right was shot with the 70-300. I never used it much, I'm more of a wide angle user for landscapes. Now, I'm convinced the longer focal lengths can produce very nice landscape photo's as well. You just need to think differently about how to compose your shot. With the longer focal lengths you get nicely compressed views. A nice change from the 'get everything in the frame' wide angle shots.
Anyway, back to the new lens. Being on a budget, all those nice 2.8 zooms from Canon and Sigma were slightly out ...
