The scary choice...to go full time or not! I took a the plunge in May of this year and haven't looked back! Yes it was scary and yes I had a back up plan just in case n didn't work but it was the best thing I have ever done. I don't earn as much as I did before but I am a much happier person and I get to spend much more time with my family. Also the added bonus of being much fitter, I swim 3 times a week, I am racing my mountain bike again (I even did a 12hr night race!). I would also like to think my standard of work has improved....I guess this is subjective to what the customer is looking for. My downloads/earning graph is also pointing in a skyward direction...which also make me happy! Anyone thinking about weather they should take the plunge,... [ Read more... ]

Do you ever get the feeling that your life is the only real life and that other people think that they are living a life but it is just a figment of their imagination and it only becomes real when they met you? Me neither, but ok, yes, I do sometimes but yesterday I saw some road work and it just hit me that I would never have imagined that arrangement of holes and barriers! Damn, I guess the world dose not revolve around me and you lot are just as real as me! I feels a bit odd but this is the first day of the rest of my life that I am going to be just normal...scarry! Am I alone?

When I was a kid, I felt like I was the center of the universe.. I always wondered, why can't people see through my eyes, and why can't I see through theirs? I could never have put it into words at that time, but I now realize, that was part of me feeling that everything and everyone is connected to the point of being one and the same..
I've read a lot about quantum mechanics, string theory, and the zen like state of being that it seems to imply. Some people complain that science is going to destroy all the mystery of the universe.. But if you accept that we are the universe and the universe is us, then our trying to discover more about the universe, is the universe trying to find out more about us and itself. If the universe that is everything (that we know of) doesn't fully understand itself, I think that it will be a long long long long long +1,000,000 longs long time before we ever get to that point.. - posted by

My girlfriend has put up with me for over 3 years and has been dropping a few hints about getting married! I have been playing it cool but I think it is about time I popped the question...this is where you lot come in. Go with your heart. Your heart won't fail you, if you just let it do its thing. :) My fiance proposed to me over the phone while stationed in Fort Bragg. He just couldn't wait!! A couple of weeks later when we got to see him for Easter, he told his parents over dinner (well, after really, but still at the restaurant table) and placed the ring on my finger. :) Was it fine wine and dining? When your stock portfolio finally takes off what are you going to spend your millions on? I have always wanted to buy some woods/meadow area and create a mountain bike circuit for the local youth....and maybe create an environmentally friendly house for myself. How long do you spend with your photos in photoshop tweaking and correcting them? If a photograph isn't working do you chuck it or put it to one side and go back to it later? How ordered is your work flow? Comments?

If I'm having difficulty with something, I have to walk away from it. Most times, I will come back later that day when my chi is flowing better -- when my fingers and Photoshop and my mind are actually working right! Sometimes I have to leave an uncooperative image alone for days or weeks before I get the right inspiration. I have several images that have actually been sitting on my harddrive untouched for months because I haven't had the right flow to deal with them. Some subjects I just have to be in the right mood to work with. ;) - posted by
