Inkscape Keys – Part II     posted on 23rd of december, 2007

Hi everybody!

Here I am with the second part of the blog dedicated to the freeware and open source software called Inkscape. It’s very easy to use, but if you know some simple tricks, you’ll be able to draw with it in a faster way.

In the first part of my little tutorial ( http://blog.dreamstime.com/2007/12/05/inkscape-keys_art25005 ) I’ve shown you keyboards about tools (selector, node, zoom, geometrical forms, pen & pencil, gradient, text) and dialogs (very important to change the main characteristics of the objects).

Now I’d like to show you some keyboards about file, zoom and layers.

File:

Ctrl + N Create new document

Ctrl + O Open an SVG document

Ctrl + I Import bitmap or SVG

Ctrl + P Print document

Ctrl + S Save document...

Inkscape Keys     posted on 5th of december, 2007

Hi guys!

Do you know Inkscape? It’s a freeware and open source software you can download from internet. It’s a very beautiful software that you can use to draw nice illustrations.

I’ve drawn all my illustrations with it and I think it’s a very useful instrument for vector designs.

I want to advise you to use some keyboards that can help you in your works. I often use them and I think they help you to draw more quickly and without lose your concentration.

Tools:

F1 (or s) Selector

F2 (or n) Node

F3 (or z) Zoom

F4 (or r) Rectangle

F5 (or e) Ellipse/Arc

F6 (or p) Freehand Pencil

Shift + F6 ...

Bell Towers     posted on 27th of november, 2007

Hi guys!

I’ve been always enchanted by the imposing fascination of bell towers, especially by the churches one. I particularly like the photos taken from a low angle view looking up at the sky with the bell tower into the center of the composition. I know that for the photograpy basic rules the best composition is another one, the Rule of Thirds (human eye is naturally drawn to a point about two-thirds up a photo), but... I show you some examples! What do you think about this image? Is the No-Rule-of-Third-composition an additional quality or a lack/regret?

Ciao, Rob.

I also agree about not using the rule of thirds all the time, I like those pictures too! - posted by Torie508 on November 28, 2007
I'm agree with you about the light. Yeah, I understand what you mean when you say "I ... would still like to see the building's feet", but sometimes we have need to look and aim high, don't you think? ;-) Thanks for your comment, Rob. - posted by Roberto1977 on November 27, 2007

It's Dreams Time!     posted on 20th of november, 2007

Hi guys!

Here I am with a new kids series: Kids & Train. I enjoy myself drawing these illustrations. I do them in a few evenings and I'm happy they've been accepted all: now I've 56 upload files in my portfolio, so... it's a great month for me (so far my acceptance ratio for november is 100%!).

What do you think about these illustrations?
