Panoramic images     posted on 20th of august, 2009

Shooting panoramic images is not as difficult as you might think while admiring brilliant effects. One of our users, Imagestalk, recently

posted a short blog article with just a few examples taken from his portfolio. The response was - great images! And they are!

Although panoramas were possible to produce in analog era, it's so much easier now, with just a little help of some wise

software and just a bit of know-how, you should do wonders. Let me share my own experiences here:

Shooting:

1. More often than not, you'll be shooting far away objects. So, go to manual mode in your camera, do some test shots and adjust the settings...

Even I had written a blog on panorama, here is the link, may be useful for someone as the topic is similar. - posted by Creativei on September 16, 2009
If you search for "panorama stitched" you get 281 results, "panorama" yields 42,659 results, "panoramic" gives you 27,911 and "panoramas" results in 129 images. I wonder how many designers would search for stitched panoramas as that refers to how the image was produced. Not many, I think. I believe that more buyers would search simply under panorama and add the subject they are looking for to that word - like flower, crowd, city, etc. Oh and, panoramas as a search term is useless as it should mean more than one and none meet that criteria. Keywords are important! - posted by Red on September 05, 2009

I got into photography as a teenager, my very first camera was Smena, then Practica, I truly reminisce hours spent in a darkroom. But it was only when digital era started that I truly started to enjoy shooting - the effects of your work seen immediately, easier learning curve, comfortable and unlimited post-processing possibilities made things much more fun.

Apart from taking my own shots, I teach and work as an Image Editor here at Dreamstime, which means looking at hundreds of photos daily. And although I've reviewed half a million of images, I'm still impressed how much talent there is around:)

Don't take photos. Make them!

I'm one of the editors on Dreamstime.
