My first Extended License sale!     posted on 27th of june, 2008

I was really happy today to find out I had my first Extended License sale :) with this image:

It was a P-EL sale so I imagine my image will go on a printed material of some kind... Hope many more sales like this one will follow :)!

Thank you DT for this opportunity!

Black or white background?     posted on 14th of may, 2008

I was wondering if photos with black backgrounds sell as much as white ones... Do buyers buy them? Do you shoot also isolated on black objects? I'd really like to hear your experiences on this.

As for the images you see here: they are two attempts of mine to produce images with a black background. I happen to particularly like the one with he birthday cake, don't ask me why :). The other one was totally improvised and I think you can tell that! :).

Thanks everybody or your comments :) I think I will stick to white and occasionally shot a few black background photos. As Howard said, it depends on what contrasts best. Happy shooting! :) - posted by Sil63 on June 13, 2008
Obviously white,in my opinion.Just see those hot images, seems few black. - posted by Macmaniac on June 12, 2008
I choose depending on what contrasts best with the item being photographed. It would be interesting to see if one sells more than the other. - posted by Howardgrill on May 16, 2008

Nice surprise today     posted on 1st of may, 2008

I found two of my pics were Editors' Choice today :) What a nice surprise!

Blue gate on beach was shot while at the beach. I had to apply many levels adjustments and some dodging and burning to make the sky look dramatic and at the same time have the gate not sink in total shade. Had I had a flash at that time I would have probably filled in the shadows easily.

Neoclassical building interior was shot many years ago in Messina with my newly bought Nikon d70. This building interior looked really fascinating to me. I really liked the yellow light coming through the glass ceiling. I wasn't satisfied ...

Over 100!     posted on 23rd of october, 2007

I thought I'd celebrate my first hundred (103) photos uploaded to Dreamstime! When I first submitted here it seemed such a far away goal to reach but now here I am :)

I still have LOTS to learn but the people from Dreamstime are a great example to me.

Thanks Dreamstime for the daily encouragement you give me!
