Advice on macro lenses!

posted on 15th of september, 2013

Hello dreamstimers!!

I am looking to buy myself a good macro lens for my Canon 700D body!

I have read some info about the Tamron AF 60/2 Di-II LD lens which has a very good price and seems like a good lens, but I somehow, wouldn't like to go with my first pic, at least without getting a couple of opinions from you guys!

So is that lens worth it's money, are there better ones with abt the same price? Any recommendations?
What is your favorite macro lens??

Thanks

Hi all.
Thanks for the valuable input.
I own the Canon EFS 85mm 1.8 for portraits so that is covered and animal photography is not really my thing.
What I'm looking for is smth to perform well when shooting smll household items, model cars, toys and food. So smth that focuses well when I am very close to the subject and often under not the best lighting condition, such as the one in a library when shooting book macros.
Thanks
