100 sales :-)     posted on 14th of april, 2008

Reached my 100th sale. Must have happened over the weekend. I think it was this:

Has anyone else noticed how most sales mostly take place on weekdays?

Thanks to all who purchased and helped me reach my goal. I'm so happy I think I'm floating.

They sold on the first day.     posted on 31st of march, 2008

I am very excited.

I just realized that the first day after these illustrations were approved, they sold. Its interesting how things work in this micro stock market.

I just wish I could see how and where they are used. After 86 sales thus far I have only been able to find one of my images in its intended use.

How can I find out where they are used? or does anybody know who is buying, in other words what companies or individuals are the primary client?

The illustrations for your good, I would also like to draw the illustrations, but I will not. In addition, I would also like to know the picture is downloaded how to find and use in any place. - posted by Laolv on April 01, 2008

$5,100 for an image!     posted on 11th of march, 2008

I often create my own images/illustrations and will begin loading them on Dreamstime in the following week. A photo is something that takes a minute or just a second to capture (if not setting up for it) but an illustration can take days, weeks if not months to design.

$5100 I just learned is the record for a SR-EL sale but that seems high for an image .

How should I price my illustrations? I'm not asking for a direct response. Just wondering how others feel about SR-EL pricing.

If you want to get a better idea of the type of illustration I want to offer please see the following link

Any thoughts on my approach? Thanks for the insight.

Hi Fallsview, I have spent a ridiculous amount of time on the image. No kidding if I was to take all the hours dedicated to this, the process must have taken a week (40 hours). Never mind that the image is a side effect of the original intention :-) - posted by Studioceja on March 12, 2008
I think the price should be directly related to your time, I mean, how many hours have you been working on this single picture/illustration? - posted by Fallsview on March 12, 2008
Hi I always use recommended price of DT for SR-EL. When illustration is popular and get higher level it price for SR-EL also grows. It is fair for me. Ania - posted by Papuga2006 on March 12, 2008

Has anyone successfully SOLD THE RIGHTS using SR-EL?     posted on 10th of march, 2008

150 and counting, I think I'm finally on a roll!

As a college student I find myself exploring my options. I have been traveling around quite a bit and taking photos everywhere I go. I have been into photography since grade school, now I am exploring microstock.

I opened my account in late 2006 and uploaded a couple images. I hadn't really touched it until now. I am finally taking this seriously and have begun uploading at a steady pace.

I have sold some but my question is as follows: HAS ANYBODY BEEN SUCCESSFUL SELLING THE RIGHTS TO AN IMAGE using the SR-EL option? How common is it?

Thanks!

I sold an image similar to this one [imgl]1101954[/imgl] and received $1500 for it, so that means it must have sold for $3000. Easy money when it does come, but it doesn't come too often. Just waiting for my second one... - posted by Jsternig on March 11, 2008
Thanks it is nice to see this sort of thing does happen. Does anyone have similar experiences here on Dreamstime? - posted by Studioceja on March 11, 2008
Photographers are usually very discreete about their SR-EL sales, don't know exactly why. Maybe because of the a higher amount. To answer your question, they are not frequent at all per contributor, but they happen often site-wide. And they reach ALL kinds of contributors. Here is something to motivate you: http://blog.dreamstime.com/2007/10/24/new-record-for-sr-el-license---$5100_art24784 - posted by Achilles on March 11, 2008
