My first blog and 5th online photo     posted on 4th of february, 2009
>Hello!

So, I finally managed to get 5 photos approved :) Great day and a boost to my hobby, inspiration-wise. I will describe the experience for people who will try, fail and who will need some support to get going.

I found out DT at Twitter. I was never interested in stock photos or selling photos. I was interested in shooting pictures for fun.

But, KarenKH was so enthusiastic and happy I said to myself:

- Go ahead, boy, you have nothing to lose and maybe....

So, I plunged, I took couple of latest travel stuff and I opened an account. I put it there. I waited.... I waited ....
Somebody in this forum wrote, that waiting time is too short on DT?

Ha ha ha ...

Then, I forgot about it
Then, out of...

Madagascar - paradise island     posted on 8th of february, 2009
>I had a chance to visit beautiful island of Madagascar. I went there in the end of September, which is the end of dry season, not the best time to come. It was dry and quite hot. May is best. The capital, Antannaarivo is bustling city, with everybody out in the street all the time. People are very poor, but I have never seen hungry children. On the opposite, in every village I visited there was a school, and in some, hospital. More than 50% of inhabitants is younger than 18.

I traveled around 1000 km around the island. I fell in love very quickly. There is no chance to describe hospitality and friendliness of the people, beauty of malagasy women, serenity of the landscape. There is no danger at all, I have met many french people who either visited or owned hotels and restaurants. Do not swim in some...

Winter images     posted on 12th of february, 2009
I have reached 17 photos and for the first time I got some shots approved without any fuss :O
I dug out some older shots from last year late winter.

The problem with battery - it was -20 degree Celcius - I am tough guy but my battery was not. I burned 3 lithium batteries in 4-5 hours. There are some tips and tricks to keep them warm, but, I just took 3 and managed to shoot ok.

There was a submission problem with this colorful ratrak. It had a nice grafitti on the red part, but I had to remove it. even if it was not a trademark.

All in all, quite a success with more pictures getting approved just like that :)

About the trip - it was Stubai area in Western Austria....

My most stunning travel - Svalbard     posted on 17th of february, 2009
A few years ago I had unique chance to travel to Svalbard, beautiful, cold island in the North. Svalbard is above the polar circle, so I had the all-round day, the whole day. I plan to put some more pictures, for now only two. Other wait for scanning.

I experienced couple of hyperactive days, nearly no sleep at all, simply there was no night. And, too much fun as well. The pictures I made from an exploration ship. You canot imagine what garment I had on myself. I looked like a polar bear at least, only orange :)

Also, look at Master Picture, from one of DT best:

More to come.

W00t I chilled you too much?     posted on 21st of february, 2009

In my previous blogs I showed my winter pictures. You were chilled! This is not good. I feel you deserve some heating instead.

I found this nice thermometer in the Death Valley, in the shadow. Look close. This is real. No joke.

It was not the most warm point, in the dunes above the valley, the wind was literally scorching my skin.

I report - no problems with battery, I kept my camera inside the bag a lot because the nasty black was getting really sizzling.

Nice heating at the winter's end, folks :)

Vegas at night     posted on 28th of february, 2009
Well, one of my favourite destinations is Las Vegas, Nevada.
For us, Europeans, it is strange and rich mixture. Romance and greed. Luxury and debase. Art and kitch. Choose your favourite pair.

On one hand, glamorous crowd in casinos at night, sparkling, burstling with pearly laughter, sensuous dresses of pretty girls.

On the other hand, lonely, sad, fat addict at the slot machine at 4am, mindlessly shoving his or her banknotes into the furnace.

About art and kitch, I will spare your sensitive photographer's souls.

I hate to portrait base and evil, ugly and dirty. I concentrate on the bright side of life. I hope, I have managed to show the Vegas night beauty, leaving the bad side, well, aside :)

I believe that the dancing fountains...
