I’m sure, like me, you all have been out and about (very often without camera) and have come across a subject which you thought would make stock material.
Other times we may have shot a subject but may not have just got it right either compositionally or technically at the time.
This is where the “little black book” comes in handy. In particular it is very useful for outdoor work.
Here you can make a memorandum of subjects for a return visit, taking note particularly of location and the time which relates directly to the lighting which prevailed. These times and dates (as all of you will probably will know) are easily accessible from the playback in your camera.
