With the torch traveling around the world, Olympic is really coming soon, There are a lot of mascots displayed outside Hongkong culture center, the name of the five mascots are beibei, jingjing, huanhuan, yingying, nini, all the names strung together means "Beijing welcomes you".

I'm very proud that the Olympic is held in our Chinese country!

Penang     posted on 1st of april, 2008

It is over a year since my trip to Penang, Malaysia, my wife's hometown.

If you take a look Penang island at google map, you'll find that this island and several small islands surrounded it make Penang state looks like a big turtle.

Before the spring festival of 2007, we decided to spend the holiday in Penang, so after an eight hour long trip, we reached the heart of the "big turtle". It was really hot in the days when we stay there, my father in law said it's always hot in that season, so if you want to travel to Penang, don't choose the period of spring festival, try some other season.

The food in Penang is very famous in southeast Asia, Hokkien prawn noodle, chaoguotiao, Penang laksa... are all ...

Xi Di     posted on 26th of february, 2008

It has been nearly 1 and a half year since we came back from XiDi and HongCun, but images of those white walls, black roofs are still vivid in my mind.

XiDi is similar as Hongcun but it has it's own characteristic, it is famous of its 'Paifang'. Paifang was built for those people who had become a minister or a big officer in the royal government.

There used to be 13 Paifang but now there is only one left . The reason why the other 12 Paifang are destroyed is because during "The Great Cultural Revolution" period, those old buildings must be destroyed . Then the next question is why is there still one remaining? The reason is the destroyers wanted the remaining one to serve as a negative material to educate the people .

Singapore Won!     posted on 22nd of february, 2008

It's the first time that Singapore will host such an international Olympic games. Although I'm not a Singaporean, I'm still happy for this big event.

When the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that Singapore was chosen as the host of the first Youth Olympic Games in 2010 yesterday, the whole square in front of city hall is in a jubilant mood.

Although I won't have chance to take photos for Beijing 2008 but I will have chance to take photos for the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore 2010 :)
