I recently got a membership to NAPP and absolutely love it!! I got the magazine and it is the best one I know of. So far I have three of the DVDs produced by them and they are also really helpful. I think the best thing about it is getting all of the online tutorials that walk you though the steps and point out the quick keys and some techniques that I doubt I would have ever figured out on my own. Check it out here:
I also recently got a subscription to Xtrain but have not really been too impressed. The tutorials are not as useful for me but I could definitely see them being helpful for beginning photographers and photoshop users.
No problem, it is 99 dollars a year to sign up but it is worth it if you really want to learn. I think I have spent 30 hours on there and barely scratched the surface of what is available. Their dvds are great too, I just finished the "power session" and "camera raw" but I feel like I need to watch both of them again to get most of it to stick, there is just so much in Photoshop.
Oh yeah if you live in the US you can get free shipping from B&H (along with other discounts) now, so that will save you a few bucks right off the top if you plan on buying anything in the near future.
