A mistake that I will NEVER EVER make again!

posted on 5th of august, 2008

ok, so 3 weeks ago, I did a photo shoot with a friend of mine. I was happy with the results and so was she. She signed the model release and i worked away at uploading the pics, and patiently waiting for them to be reviewed and hopefully accepted!

So I waited and waited.... finally they were under review..

and they were ALL refused...

I had not included her phone number on the Model Release... i had to go through the WHOLE process of uploading the photos, keywording and upload a new model release....

SO.. ALWAYS include a phone number on your model releases!
Three weeks on from the shoot, FINALLY the first pics have been approved with the correct model release!

I am in northern Thailand for an extended holiday and not everyone has a phone or email address. This has caused endless headaches for me.

Another common mistake while filling in MRs is forgetting the COUNTRY! I had to replace two or three MRs just because of that.

Good idea Stuart - think I will start doing that to save the rejections.

I ALWAYS submit one image from a shoot before the rest, purely to check the validity of model release forms and also any copyright issues which might exist, should the images contain props, vehicles or anything which I am not 100% sure about.

This saves a lot of rejections... and time!

When I loaded photos the first time with the model release I had problems too. I could load only from third time;) I made mistakes all time.
It is necessary to pass once this way and then all will turn out from the first.
