Now everything is over my head - the big date approaches! I am a photographer and I will not be able to make myself photographs on my wedding day! In fact I can, but there will be NO bride on the photos :):):)
I’ve learned everything for wedding photography and I know precisely what kind of photos do I want . . . but almost all photos of my wedding day will depend on somebody else.I still don’t have an idea who will be the photographer but I hope that he (I think they are only men in my city) will make incredible photos. Are there any volunteers? For free? Or for a piece of cake? :)
I have and better idea. Maybe I’ll dress up somebody else with my dress and I’ll make some photos that I have in my mind :):)
Has some of you ever been in the same situation? Any advice would be helpful! Thanks!
Congratulations on your big day... i was not so into photography when i got married, If it were tomorrow, i would be way more particular. I'm sure you'll find someone who you click with and who you can explain exactly what you want to.. good luck! x
My daughter Miriam is the wedding photographer at Schooner Cove Photography. She says she will be your photographer for FREE and she will give you the digital negatives. if you can fly her to you and put her up for a few days. Glad you enjoyed our site.
I'm sure if you found a wedding photographer yet. But I used this resource to help me find mine. www.wpja.com Doesn't have one from Bulgaria I think but I figured there may be a photographer in a neighboring country that may work. But this association has great photographers. And photos from the regular contest may help you with your "Must have shot" list. Congrats again.
Hey, wish you a beautiful wedding day! Give away all your cameras and let friends take care of them. It's the most important day for you and your honey, you don't want to remember shutter button or dials about that day, but HIS smiling face. So, forget about cameras. If you don't trust your friends, ask from local photography forums, if somebody knows a good wedding photographer and hire him for couple of decisive hours, if your budget is tight. Let your friends take care about all party pictures later. Don't forget to assign some of them to take pictures, they might to forget everything in exciting moments if you just make a casual remark about it. Anyway, I wish you a beautiful life together! Take care, m.
Congratulations!!! It looks like you got alot of good advice. We found a photography hobbyist at our church by asking around and hired him to take our engagement pictures as a test run. We liked those pictures so we hired him for the wedding pictures too. They turned out great. So it pays to ask around. I never would have guessed that that dairy farmer could take such nice pictures:) Honestly, though, 23 years and 7 kids later it's not the wedding pictures covering our walls but all the moments since:) Enjoy your life together!
Thank you Lieska and Katzilioness! Almost all of my guests will have digital cameras, I'll give them my 2 also. So, I'll definitely have a lot of photos but I want some professional ones! But there's nothing to worry about ... there's always a way to get what you want!
I also have been in your Situation. if you really, really really care about getting professional looking photos you should hire a professional wedding photographer You cannot expect your friends to get the lighting and composition right even if you give them a little crash course It takes practice. That however did not happen for me and my husband :We Had just moved to Los Cabos Mexico and of course got married here on the beach. We were on a especially for here low budget so my husband hired a photographer he knew and also fired here when she asked for much more money THE DAY THE DAY OF THE WEDDING. In the end his sister and some fiends took the pictures with our equipment without any preperations AND IT WORKED OUT FINE.We are happy with the pictures we got. If you interested one our favourite is still on the blog of our website.(Lighting is not everything) P.S If you still have not found a photographer check out colleges that have art programs that incorporate photography you might find some talent there. My friend did that during college he actually was real good and got hired by professional companies to shoot for them to help pay tuition. HAVE FUN
I have no advice that has not already been given, I just have best wishes for you as you take this huge step. Congratulations and good luck to you and your husband to be. Hope we get to see a picture or two, no matter which photographer you choose.
CONGRATULATION for your wedding! It is only the starting point of a long journey. Well, I am from Italy, so I can't help you as photographer, but I sincerely wish you could have a beatiful day and a wonderful life with your husband. Best wishes, Fulvio.
Congratulations! I know the feeling of wanting to be your own photographer on your important days, only if we can split :) I'll say even you hire a photographer, you should have several friends (preferably some one who has some working knowledge and you could give them a preparation course) to take pictures at your wedding. You can get pictures from different angles and make your own album. We did that from our wedding and we are very happy with ours. I would volunteer if I'm there. Good luck and enjoy your big day!
Hey Congratulations for your wedding. I wish I could travel so far, I would have clicked you for free, but anyway I am not the best photographer around but I would surely click them good enough to make you look very beautiful!
I would suggest you to have a friend who has clicked beautiful pictures of you with an ordinary camera to assist the photographer. As you know that the friend clicks you well, you can tell the photographer to follow his advices.
Marpit, I just searched in google for a photographer in the city where the wedding will be .. but I didn't find anyone. Next week I'll go there and walk around the city and hope I'll be lucky and find someone.
