Make photos bigger...

...namely if you have no 20Mp in your cam, let's go for panoramic!

My first panoramic photo series has been made on a boat in a middle of lake. You can imagine it, there was no program for stitching those pieces! :D

Later on, I found myself in office-window, taking shots from a purple sunset with my compact Casio cam. That was the point when I realized that a panorama photo is not only beautiful, but really useful, if you have a smaller cam than you need. It's still only 5,7 MP, but this 5,7MP is more 'useable' than original pieces individually (made of 3 vertical shots).

Through months and hundreds of shots I really can tell you, that I love taking panorama photos! You'd better to use tripod (or monopod) for tight aparture (-> for more details on photo), but you can test without it, of course (first case is more stock-able :)).

Unfortunately I've had no chance to use my 10MP cam for this purpose yet, but I'm going to Transsylvania next month, so I hope I can show you some beautiful town and landscapes - in a really-really high resolution!

Ooops, and a really important thing, the program for stitching; I use Autostitch for this, and I'm really happy with it - easy to use, fast (you can limit the memory size for program) and precise. Others use PhotoShop, PTGui, Panavue, or a free program - you can find the perfect one for yourself easily.

Have a beautiful weekend, everyone!

I love panoramas, you can fit in so much detail of a vista before you. I just wish that they showed a little bit bigger on DT. They are hard to see properly when the object of the image is further away in the photo. Great images! :0)

About me

I've started photographing a few years ago with a compact cam. In 2008 november I decided to buy a DSLR cam, and I chose a Pentax k10d. Now I'm upgraded into a Pentax K-3 for more details. I rarely use hard Photoshop effects, I'd better see the real world in my photos. My main interests are travelling and towns - and nature, of course. I think I'm good at nightscenes - however, I don't like to take photos about people, so my pics sometimes seems a little static - mainly for Stock photographing, but I don't give up. :) Lots of my photos are based on R... [Read more]
