I don't think I'm unique in this regard: when I look at my photos, I almost always recall the story behind the photo.
Take this image for example. Nothing fancy, but I did think it was a useful stock image of a office building.
I immediately remember that I was on my way to DFW airport in Dallas when I saw the building. I had seen it before from the highway. But this time I was a bit early for my flight and decided to get off the freeway and have a closer look.
It was warm, but not a scorcher. But it was windy. After making these shots I went elsewhere I tried to get some images of hundreds of small sunflowers growing in a vacant field. No luck - too windy.
