Taking the Swine Flu Vaccine: YES or NO?!

posted on 31st of october, 2009

Hi everyone!

I know this is not a photography issue but it concerns people all over the world & from all sectors!

Recently it's passing on the news contradicted information about the swine flu vaccine! I still can not take a decision if I'm going to take it or not!

So I decided to ask people in my e-mail contact list using this photo & here on DT whether they are going to take it or not!

A YES or a NO answer is appreciated!

PS: Don't worry Gabriel your photo was sent protected ;)

Here in Australia we suffered a little with the swine flu. What was most worrying was the normal flu I got, in Spring, and despite I had a flu vaccination. I am a very clean person, but the flu I got knocked me around for over 6 weeks.

Thank you all... I'm afraid that since yesterday I'm with a normal flu, I say normal cause I'm not with fever but the just a strong flu! Maybe called as the temperature has lowered suddenly here :(

ie: I can not take any vaccine at the moment!

NO WAY - i totally agree with Risto40 - you never know what S**t they are putting into the vaccine or any for that matter - if you take all necessary precautions and wash hands etc etc then if or when we do get this dreaded virus our body will fight it :)

Sure i am.. altough sometimes i hate to write it ;) And the vaccine just seasonal because in Poland we don't have the Ah1n1 vaccine. Also i'm not convinced that it is such big killer.
You can find more info about 'vaccine fight' in Poland if You like: http://bit.ly/76lp7b

Hi Rangpl, thanks for your comments :))
I hope you enjoy it as I do! I mean the blogs not the wine :))
Have you took your vaccine?
Posted by Rangpl on November 27, 2009
Jeez.. Maen.. it seems like You've done a blog of the whole Dreamstime site..
Are You sure the vaccine shot You've taken was against the flu ?
If You did of course, cause if not... i think it's not a wine in that glass..!

Thank you David!

YES> because every vaccination kills. Whatever the vaccination is for, there is an element of risk. There are virtually no vaccines available that would cause an adverse reaction, even death, with someone in the general population. People die or are harmed by measles, mumps, flu, and various others.

TAKE THE RISK. Vaccinate.

Thank you all I wouldn't also! Just gonna take my chances as well!

Some of the public who took it here had a terrible reactions the day after!
But they are healthy till now thank God!

No, I do agree with Risto40
Posted by Voodooshack on November 22, 2009
I'm a healthy adult, so no. Plus, it's not available.

3 Fetus death cases in Portugal & more 6 in europe after the vaccination!
Still no official confirmation from the health ministry about the relation between these cases & the vaccination!
This is starting to be scary even!!!

NO - it's the vaccine that kills! Swine flu is actually less dangerous than regular flu. It's just the media that says it's a dangerous flu.

I received some e-mails as reply to my question, but only one had paid much my attention that was talking about the humid area & dry areas to catch the flu!
The infection in areas with high humidity is less than in dry ones!
I'm trying to find if that is true or not!
If anybody heard any about this I would appreciate it much!
Of course I already replied to the person asking from where he/she got that!

oh oh, i forgot to mention...

everytime there is a virus pandemic or epidermic,
someone is going to exploit it to blow it out of proportion, so they can make money , viz software writers for virus protection, pharmaceuticals, politicians, lobby group, investors in these ventures, ...
and even micro stock photographers !!! lol.

funny, but true ! it's all money talk ! ;)

yes, i agree to the latest comments somewhat.
virus has been killing people for ages. at the same time, healthy people have survived it for equal time. it's the nature of the beast... survival of the fittest, killing of the weak and irresponsible, if you must .
the media is also partly responsible for blowing things out of proportion, as always. bad journalists with nothing to say will use this as a way to sell their politicians and newspapers, etc.
i read somewhere that the solution , lies in the same place as all things eg pollution, ozone, raping of the rain forest, health care,etc..
the responsibility lies with the first pronoun "I".
if every "I" takes the accountability and responsibility to care for themselves (ie. wash their hands, not cough in public, etc),
then the world at large will be fine. same applies for pollution,etc..
we see more devastation nowadays, simply because mankind has come not to give a f--k about their neighbours .
these modern day "plagues" (SIDA, Swine...(More)

I say no for the simple reason that the vaccine in the US has been approved for immunity to any lawsuit. There is a "mist" vaccine that you inhale that is supposed to be very safe. I've heard of additives in the injection vaccines that could cause issues (but that might just be public hype)...it just scares me worse than the actual bug itself.

Nope, I am just going to walk around in one of these:

   Scientist in a chemical plant

Just kidding, I will just make sure to play it smart and wash my hands and stay healthy.

Thank You Tan510jomast! Isn't there any easier name to call you :P
Posted by Tan510jomast on November 03, 2009
i don't work with the public , so i am not taking a shot.
but i still take precautions like washing my hands before touching my face,
eating lots of fruits and vegetables that strengthen my immune system and taking lots of exercise and do deep breathing.
i think it's more of a lifestyle that will make one more prone to the flu and other diseases. i find that the docile inactive person , like the elderly and the um, smokers, will be more worried than those who are habitually
health conscious. that's my two bit opinion, of course.
