There is a company I am trying to work with that prints images on polymeric film and permanently laminates them in glass on both sides in either transparent or backlit. It is pressed in a furnace, just like a windshield. No other framing is needed.
So far, it has been done for large format glass partitions but may be interesting for wall art.
Very nice. I've had some of my 30x20s laminated and mounted on a heavy wood mounting and they turned out great. Been looking at the printing available on brushed aluminum. It looks awesome! A little expensive, though, so I'll have to wait on that. Would be interested in this company and process you talked about.
