Photo Preview DT Style!

posted on 4th of november, 2009

This is a fast tip...
If you want to see how your image looks when published on DT, do the following using Photoshop...

1- Open your photo (Illustration);
2- Change the resolution from 300DPI to 72DPI;
3- Resize your image to width 300 pixels for landscape images or the height to 350 pixels for portrait ones;
4- From the filter menu choose the sharpen -> sharpen;
5- From File menu go to Save for web, choose the jpg format with 85% quality.

That's it!

Now you will see the image the way it will show on DT if it was accepted and with out the watermark of course :)

Cheers ;)

A Matter of Expectations!

posted on 12th of november, 2009

Hi all,

I Just thought of sharing you this as I was working on a new project & of course DT photos were involved...

Most of the times buyers imagine the use of the image before they download it! But the fact is that the photo doesn't always reach the final work for many reasons...

1. The final client didn't like it! "Differences make us stronger :))"
2. The photo needs much editing & it's easier to get another sometimes! "That doesn't make it ungood photo!"
3. Changing of plans... Like in magazines many times some articles end up unpublished! Or a change of the design that doesn't allow the image to fit well anymore!
4. The buyer has searched more carefully & found a nicer photo :)
This happens yes! Due to different keywords & searching methods!

If this happens to...

Well put, Mani.

I'm enjoying the DT ride so far: the neat feeling that some of my submissions are making it in; then a few sales, whether actually used or not. It'll be awesome to actually see my images in action--I know time will come for that, too!

very good! Congratulations!

of course, if you're a pessimist you will be complaining not saying hurrah, because it means your portfolio will be buried deeper down in the search .

but i know that Dreamstime is fair, and they treat all photographers with the same advantage and do not favour one photographers just because they have the biggest portfolio.

so CONGRATULATIONS DREAMSTIME. 7, 000, 000 images or
200 images, you treat every one of us FAIRLY.

I have also reached a new milestone this year.I've 3,300 online.

posted on 24th of november, 2009

Hi everybody, I just want you all to feel OK about the micro-stock market cause as a buyer my self, I'm happy to tell you that I have reached over 200 downloads! More than 100 downloads within a month!

And I am one among many that are active day and night!

I have posted some blogs about the use of some of these downloads (The recent ones are: Kindergarten and Shoe Repair) and still many to come. But as projects are not as fast as a download you have to be patient :))

I'll leave you with some photos also to have an idea what can be downloaded...

Keep Uploading Everybody!

Cheers :)

Some Talented People Are Silent!

posted on 26th of november, 2009

Today I'm writing about someone... A FRIEND!

Since last year I met someone who's really talented & different! In the sense of his talent & his nature!

My friend is a real artist... He's an illustrator and a photographer!
It's his daily work and his daily free time!

He's between us now! And he's happy to be part of this community, but unfortunately he understands English but not really good in writing it.

I admire his intelligence & talent as he has compensated his deficiency in art! I've seen much of his work and he kept me speechless!

Sergio Cristina is deaf & mute! But he can speak many languages! Languages of Art!

I'm happy that I brought him here...

Losing Photos Was In The Past!

posted on 28th of november, 2009

Hi all,

I'm here to share something that might be useful for many! It was useful for me... I lost my hard drive few weeks ago & like they say, the experience is the biggest school in life! I didn't believe that I lost everything so I didn't give up!

I had installed my hard disk as a slave & formatted it to be readable! (Use a firmware if it's unrecognizable by the system!)

My big finding was a program that can recover all the multimedia files (Raw files of almost all types: Nikon NEF, Canon CRW & CR2, Olympus PRF, Sony SR2 & ARW, Kodak K25, Kodak Motorola KDC...etc) even if a multimedia card, flash pen, or a hard disk was formatted several times!
The exciting thing is that I made an experience on my SD card connected directly with...

Thank you, I can't wait to try this! Useful as always! Frantab, take it from me, get more than one external HD. Don't ask how I know that!
Posted by Jeniicorv8 on November 29, 2009
I've had similar experience on a smaller scale a couple of months ago and I still feel the knot in my stomach from it, whenever I think about it. My mantra now is backup! backup! backup!

Thanks for the info.
Posted by Frantab01 on November 28, 2009
thanks for that great info Maen, an external hard drive is next on my list and hopefully i'll get it very soon :)
