Today I finally uploaded my first 20 images, then reviewed them, edited some keywords, shortened some titles to less than 50 characters, figured out the rights and submitted them.
It took since March 4th, 2010 when I joined until today to prepare my images for upload. I had already submitted a few dozen images to another stock site but, wanted to re-do my files from the top to make sure I was submitting the best images as well as title, descriptions and keywords.
I am very new to the world of stock photography and stock images and am learning a lot every day.
I was a bit surprised to learn that the time for my reviews wouldn't be for 4 to 5 days.
As the message boards said, there is a lot of activity going on right now. Other waiting times can be shorter. It just depends.
I can wait.
I hope I get a good approval rating and people like my art and some even buy different images.
I like that Dreamstime is such an active place. I've been reading a lot of the Message boards. It's so nice to be involved with such a wide variety of creative people.
I'm glad Dreamstime allows up to 80 keywords but, I doubt I'd ever use that many.
There are so many areas on Dreamstime to explore. I've barely just begun but am excited to learn all the areas of the site.
Most of my images starting out are illustrations and art paintings mainly done by hand. Later, once I get the new CanonEOS60D that hopefully will be available for sale sooner than later, I will get more into sharing more of my photography.
As for editing images before uploading, right now I am using Photoshop Elements 8 but plan on buying the new Photoshop CS5 when it comes up for sale.
I just got word today from photographyuncapped.com at the link
that the new version of Photoshop CS5 will be released soon.
They are supposed to make an announcement on April 12th.
The main link to register for the official announcement is at
I still have to re-read the email and link I got concerning the announcement to find out if that means that is the day it will be released for sale too or if they will just be announcing the release date. But, I did register at adobe this morning for it.
I also plan on buying the new Adobe Illustrator when it come out so I can start learning how to make vectors. It'd be great if they included it in Photoshop CS5 but I'm not sure of the details yet.
