Found another photo!!!

posted on 7th of april, 2010

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to share a quick story with you. I often peruse the pictures recently downloaded, Editor's Choice, and newly added just to see what's going on out there. One of these times I saw a picture of a beautiful model, and I clicked to see her other pictures because she looked so familiar. I couldn't figure it out. Well, last Friday I went to Kmart (here in Chicago), and on the way back to the bus stop, I saw the model's picture on a bus stop bench! THAT is why she looked familiar!

As soon as I got home, I looked up the picture and the photographer. I notified her immediately that I found her picture on a bench. The best part? This photographer and model are in Moscow (if I remember correctly)! Imagine, our photos are being downloaded, and we really have no idea where they are going. How exciting it must be to know that your photo is located in a metropolis in ANOTHER COUNTRY!!! Here is the pic:

Anyway, I wanted to share this story because I think it's exciting and encouraging. I encourage all of you to also look at the photos on Dreamstime in the hopes you might find one of them in a magazine or on a city bench. And also, take a few minutes to imagine in what cities or countries YOUR photos might be.

I have been here for nearly 4 years, and I have done every search every which way imaginable, but I cannot locate one single photo of mine that has ever been downloaded. But I was SO excited to see a fellow DT member's photo out there, a half a world away.

I encourage each of you to keep your eyes open and notify the photographer when you find their work. I bet they would be excited. I know I would!

Here are a few of my best sellers. Have you seen them??? :-)

Happy sales everyone!

Great story!
A hint: you can find some of your images searching them in search engines. The query must be something like this: write your text here or vice versa. Check also both Links and Images section.
Do not limit only to one engine, search through all of them. As al of them has a little different logic and approach to indexing images.

Thanks for the head's up Creativei, but I don't think it would be there. I only uploaded that image in February 2010, and the most recent issue I could find of the Car magazine was May 2009. Thank you for thinking of me and suggesting it though. :-)

Great story. I found mine on a web site one of the photographers from DT wrote about a couple of years ago. It is nice to see your images. One of the other stock sites lists what company your image went to.

I have seen a few too but not my images. Indeed I do not care who buys what. I only started to notice the different styles and designs and what end users really need.

Wow that is so nice. Makes you want to continue shooting photos! :)

I have been lucky to find a few of my photos online and one company was nice enough to notify me and send me a copy of a travel brochure my photo was used in. Also one of my photos was used as a cover of a magazine published by a local chamber of commerce. Luckily again I was notified and a copy was sent to me.

It would be nice if the designers using our photos would let us know where our pictures end up.

I have stumbled across a few in my travels as well, from several in a Calendar in Victoria to a book my wife was reading. It always makes me smile when I see a Dreamstime credit :)
