So close, yet so far...

posted on 14th of april, 2010

I often read about people reaching their milestones (which I love because you can hear the excitement in their blogs), but I thought I would shake that up a bit by talking about a personal milestone that I haven't met: a Level 3 image. The illusive Level 3 image has managed to escape me, and although I have a few which are close, as they say, close only counts in horseshoes. :-)

So, I thought I would share with you the pictures who are one download away from reaching a Level 3:

and those which are two downloads away:

And let me not forget my quickest rising photo that hit Level 2 in a week and then froze:

Most of the images that are so close yet so far haven't sold in months. So, I ask you, how many of you are "so close, yet so far away" from reaching your first image of your highest level?

I look forward to seeing your images! Happy Sales everyone!!!

Indeed that level is a tricky one … I too seem to find that an elusive level … And, indeed, level 4 is even worse.

I have managed to get one to to L3, but L4 continues to evade me.

I guess the comments as detailed below, are too true, and only with time will those elusive levels become a reality.

Keep at it though … for the small portfolio that you have online, you do have quite a good number of sales. So I guess my only advice would be that perhaps bolstering the portfolio, especially in line with the "Best Sellers", can only do the world of good.

Hi Kelley, your pride image is really good and that's why it's been selling well. Actually you've got quite a few gay pride pictures sold, 23 if I counted well, so you're doing really well on this little segment of less than 1000 images. You're competing with yourself as well as against some others and some of your other images in the same series have sold well too, so I think that what counts is the overall result of your series. 23 pictures sold, that's pretty good I would say!
The other shots are more generic, I haven't looked at them thoroughly, to check what they're competing against. You might want to think about having them rekeyworded by the keyowrd masters, that would put them up higher in the search list if they've slipped down to the bottom. Or just check your keywords yourself to make sure they're still accurate.
I love your dog paws, maybe one client bought more licences in a short space of time? Did you get keywords for all the searches or N/A?

Yep, you're so close to reach level3! As for me I have one with 8 downloads "slightly close" but I think these downloads happen suddenly with out expecting them, so that's why we feel them better :))
Good luck ;)
