Still quite new

Thank you so much for a warm welcome.

As a newcomer I have spent some time browsing both pictures and blogs to get to know the market. I have learned a good deal already. There are so many great pictures, and it is inspiring. To search the database for pictures to illustrate this article is great fun. Therefore I am not discouraged bacause all of my first uploads have been refused. The comments have been useful for me. In this business technical quality is crucial. I have not payed so much attention to that before as I do now. What was encouraging was that they spent a long time on studying the hand-drawn picture, while the photos were rejected right away. Drawing and painting is my main interest as an artist. It got the comment that there were too many artifacts on the bakground. I would guess the reason is that it is drawn on cardboard with a mixed colour. When I zoom in it looks speckled. Probably they did not like that.

The type of paper is making much of the overall impresion of a picture. The wrong type of paper may even make problems when I scan it. Especially if I use waterbased media, the paper will become uneven if is is too thin. Then the scanned image might gett blurred. Therefore I might even make sketches on 300g paper, because sometimes a sketch might be a good starting point for making something in the computer. Mabe even better than a finished painting.

I see that here as everywhere else quality is what sells. You cannot do anything half-heartedly and think you will earn a lot of money.

Therefore I will probably not be very active uploading pictures. I make pictures when I feel like it, and when I think I have a good idea. Being an artist is not a full time job for me. One level 5 picture will bring more money than ten mediocre pictures anyway.

Another reason is that this is not so much in line with the main purpose of my talent. I am mainly an artist who want to create very personal pictures to touch peoples hearts. Therefore I am creating a webpage to display some of my works in a personal way. It is not published yet, so that will take some of my time.

The most important pictures are the ones that tells about the father-heart of God, and of my personal saviour and master Jesus Christ. I owe it all to God. He is the one who created me with this talent. Without Him I would not be able to do anything.

I have been so deeply depressed that for more than ten yars I did not do anything creative at all. Then I let Him into my heart again, and gradually I have become well. He even healed me of a problem with my binocular vision and the colour sight. Before that I could not se fully theree-dimensionally, but suddenly it changed. It was like suddenly walking into a 3D movie from an almost flat one. The red and green also became much more bright. I can now se differences in shades of red that looked almost the same before. In the past I thought it was difficult to work with colours, but now I prefer it.

And the best of all is that I will spend Eternity with Him. To exist in continuous torment for ever is not a good choice. There is no stairway to Heaven that you can walk yourself. Jesus is the only way.

I wish you all the best.

I am not sure what you mean by the paper and all that. The images we upload to stock is either photography or illustration (vectors,etc.). I do photography only, so I cannot help you with illustrations, as I am a total fool with vectors,etc.. But there is a section here on advice to contributors I am sure you will find them very helpful to read that.
And yes, artifacts ,etc.. will get rejected. So, it is important to understand what is needed and the standard that is required.
As they say, it's 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration ...and a whole bucketful of luck.
