There are still many things to learn, to know, to understand and to share in DT.And hopefully this articles will at least help us to solved a few misunderstood, problems, questions, etc, by sharing this to all DT members who are more experiences and success with their stock photos in DT.

I had a few questions which still confusing me and might be to others too. Here are list of my questions.

1. I went to see a Worldcups final/formula One race/ Olympic games, etc. With this oppurtunities, i took pictures of all my favorites Stars in that particulars events. I took the pictures of the crowds too.

a. Do i have to have a Model Release of that particular Star, which of cos we can't affort to meet them in personal.

b. Images of the spectators in actions which we take from a long shot, and we of cos did not know them, do we have to have a Model Release?

c. Images of the Crowds in actions, do we have to have a Model Release too, and who among them are going to sign the Model Release, when they are in a form of crowds.

d. Candid photos of a Strangers passing by running, walking, smoking, etc. Do this kind of images need a Model Release?

Hopefully with these few questions confusing me and might be yours too, we can share to solved the problems and proceed with our DT stock more seriously.

Pls, comments and share with us your success and experiences. To all DT members, best of lucks and let DT Stock to be our best photography partners.

See this link for details on editorial licensing. The key term: "Please consider that editorial images are not meant for commercial usage and using them in a commercial context is against editorial terms."

Thank you Robert. You help me alot, may god bless you.Another confusing me now from your answer. What is the different between Editorials images and Royalty free images.Explain in brief pls.

I think you will find answers to many of these questions if you search the message boards, rather than the blogs. You'll get better responses there, too.

The basic answer is that in most cases you'll only be able to submit photos as editorial. Even with a model release, you'll have problems with logos and trademarked parts of the image and the location itself may be private property. In the case of the crowd, you'll have to ensure that people can't be recognized, no logos, etc. Candid photos will require releases. I doubt you'll find many people interested in signing a release to sell photos on the web if you took a candid photo without their knowledge. You should get their permission first...although that does make it quite a bit less 'candid' :)

Dreamstime states on the upload form that a release is required if the front or back of a model is in the photo - unless the part of the person shown is small enough to avoid recoginition...

As Dreamstime says: "In addition should the image contain faces of people or persons, I represent and warrant that I obtained a model release signed by the depicted person, and I attach a scan of this document:".

If not, you cand still submit your images as editorials, and if they are accepted, they are not under "royality free" licence. You can find more information about this on forums. Good luck

This is the document that you will sign every time you will submit any file to Dreamstime.

I hope that helps. :)
