Nikon D700 and birthday - but not mine

posted on 18th of august, 2010

Hi to all of you! This summer time has been sooo busy for me. I have dedicated a lot of time to study new tutorials for PC illustrations. As we have had bought a new photocamera Nikon D700, it has been increadible pleasure to make photos with it.

Indeed, I have so many RAW files that I just wonder: "Oh, girl, when you will check and work on all these files?" :-)
I admit that I feel so well with Nikon photocameras. Nikon D300 and Nikon D700 might be consider similar, however, Nikon D700 has some advantages. For example ISO - you can put ISO 800 and yet the noise is really acceptable. My experience is that, for example, ISO 400 doesn´t produce any noise. It is an excellent quality, for example, when you need to take images inside (a hotel, a churge, a flat) or during a dusk time and you don´t need to have a tripod!
I admit I dislike using tripod. When I can, I try to avoid it, :-) It isn´t right, but I really feel better with "free camera" in my hands.

So I am back, dear friends! At last I hope, because now I will be burried in RAW files :-) If you don´t see me, wel... Starblue is lost in Universe of Raws :-)

Today is a birthday time - but not for me. I am a March Pisces, however, we have a August Lion in our family. It is our golden retriver Bodie who is our treasure, friend and model :-) He is 11, but guys, nobody would say it. A lady who met us today was thinking he is 5 years old :-)

I wish you a great time - a lot of energy in body for all tasks you must and you want to do, a peace and joy in your soul!

The D700 I purchased just for the low noise digital images, coupled with the SB900 flash can really deal with most situations, congratulations on the purchase and of course for the beautiful pictures!
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!

Wondering if you could/would do another one/s of the sun mask and astrology in other colors. I used one - the gold one - for the cover of my book, and have a series, and would love to use that mask and astrology wheel in different colors for the other two. Lauri at LauriOwen.com

Nikon D700 is a great camera. Nevertheless don't stress the ISO value too much, otherwise
you easily get rejections because of noise - in spite of D700's excellent performance.

Wish you much fun with your new camera!

Welcome back!!! I'm also a bit busy with my RAW files, since it has been months where I haven't done anything in photography!!

I've always been canonist, so I don't know how Nikon works... but in photography forums I've been seems to be 2 stronger tendencies: Nikon or Canon

I am SO jealous! A D700--how wonderful. I am currently using the D300, and still go crazy with noise. My Charbonne turned 9 this August. She sends her regards to Bodie.

I have just sold my 2 year old D700 and bought a new one [ same model ] to get a three year guarantee. I agree it is a great camera......... just hope I dont drop it, The last one got dirt on the CCD but I feared to clean it so gave it to a photographic Shop which cleaned it and sold it on commission.
When I started on Dreamstime I hadn't been taking RAW images and much work that I had done in the past was wasted. I tell everybody I meet that joining DT is like getting a 'free' course in photography if you listen and act upon the critique of editors. David.
