I had the opportunity this year to "conquer" the top 5 peaks in Romania (which may not mean that much for experienced climbers since the highest reaches 2545 meters) but for a non-professional like myself it's such an accomplishment!
This kind of an escape from the daily schedule is a recommendation I have for you if you're feeling up to it physically, cause it will test your abilities! But the effort is all worth it, once you're up there and it seems you're touching the sky and you're able to rearrange the surrounding landscape. And the beauty of it all is that once you're there you'll never feel the need to change in any way what you see ... the landscape is breathtaking and the muscular pain disappears leaving you with a total and complete relaxation and a complete pleasure to capture best you can the scenery.
The only complaint I might have is that I did not have enough time to enjoy the top of the mountain cause of an approaching storm which chased me away after only 15 minutes ... but all big things come in small packages!!
Used to be there every summer, not so long ago. What is 30 years really compared to these mountains? They look the same. I have a large slide collection of these, being eaten by dust and mold. Nice pictures by the way. All the best.
