I have the pleasure of announcing my first photography exhibition soon to start at EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland. From 21st September until 29th October a selection of about 16 of my photographs printed on canvas will be displayed at the ELA Cafeteria (search for ELA010 on http://plan.epfl.ch). The title of the exposition is “Magic Hour”, an expression used by outdoor photographers to refer to the time of day when the photographs were taken: shortly after and before sunset.
This is my first step in exhibiting my printed photographs to the public, so any comments and suggestions are welcome. If you are a customer of my stock photos, or a fellow Dreamstime photographer, I would be very happy to meet you for the artist’s reception on 23rd September starting from 18h00 (please see my web-site for more information).
All of the images exposed are available for purchase here at Dreamstime as well. For the moment I will not disclose the list of exhibited photographs, except for the cover image (enclosed in this announcement). However, slightly before the exposition will start, I will populate this light-box with the images on display.
As mentioned above, the photographs will be printed on canvas at 90x60cm size. I find canvas printing very suitable for outdoor photography and especially for HDR images.
Thank you all for your great whishes! Yesterday evening I have finished installing the prints on the exposition walls... I am looking forward meeting all who can make it to the reception on 23rd September.
In the meanwhile, I have added all the images to the this collection. If you are interested in prices or other details please check my web-site.
Wonderful news!! I wish you well. FYI, I think canvas is a great choice. I have found that I do better in sales with canvas (instead of a mat and frame), when my work has been exhibited. I had an artist friend show me how to use clear gels over a sealed canvas surface, to give the photograph texture, like an oil painting. It really looks nice...you might give it a try sometime.
