To find and to be found

posted on 9th of march, 2010

The shown image was just downloaded.

It was found using the word "mountain" only. If I use this keyword I get nearly 10000 findings, and I can not find my image because the search is limited to 4000 pictures; I am adviced to refine my search... Any ideas how the buyer found this image?

I agree with rosedarc, your pic def stands out - congratulations :)

Brad's right if you look for mountain and then tick only people in the refined search area, you're there on the 1st page. Buyer could also refine the search to a vertical shot, use the dynamic search which allows to scroll down rapidly... Many ways to find the perfect picture, and yours definitely stands out!

Decline of sells

posted on 15th of march, 2010

Recently I realized that on the beginning of any given month many sells happen, and in the second half of the same month sells decline nearly to nill. I wonder if this is your experience too?!

4 sales this month and 4 sales last month but only half way through march so still time for a few more.
Posted by Cristalloid on March 16, 2010
As I see, there are some more people who made the same or a similar experience... is there anybody there who can explain this to me?
Posted by Meryll on March 16, 2010
Yes, sometimes I can see this feature too but usually my sales come during whole month. I am happy their number increases as I upload more photos. I experience less sales during weekends.

Success due to blogging

posted on 19th of march, 2010

I would like to know if there is any correlation between blogging activities and sales. Is there anybody who knows?

It does, I have many images sold due to blogging.
Posted by Keki on March 20, 2010
I think it does help improve exposure not sure about the sales though. I really use it as a network tool to learn more really

Blogs are one of the numerous tools in the website that allow you to get more exposure but they can't guarantee you more sales. Good images and pertinent key wording are key to success.

Frustrating days

March started pretty good for me with the following sales:

Since than NO sales at all.... I am truly down a bit... am I doing something wrong?

In my opinion up's and downs are two equal part of this business, so just cool down and keep on uploading.

Tan510jomast your daddy said is very good. Joyful each day!! Wishes your good luck!

Hi, to me this is a cumulative type of business. I don't look at the sales, I look at the number of images I have online, and try to upload weekly. Over a period of years I believe stock sales will pay well, but month to month is varies greatly. Keep working and over a period of time you'll do better and better!

Hello out there! Actually I wonder about where DT-customers are from. Are they mainly from USA? Or Australia? Or Europe (which country)? Maybe the DT-admins can show us a statistic, on the one hand number of buyers per country and on the other hand number of buys per country? Thanks and have a good time!

Excellent idea! I hope the buyers respond and DT does create such a statistic. I think that would be very helpful!
Posted by Franky242 on March 25, 2010
Very good idea indeed, hope DT is able/willing to share? This information might also be a good indication for which subjects are of interest - same would then go for the contributors - which geographic locations are better covered by photos than others? Might be good for planning my next holidays! :-)
