Hello, i haven't posted for a while and i wanted to share with you my new photos made with a reversed 55mm lens on extension tubes. I will try to go even closer with a reversed 28mm lens, as you know as the focal distance goes wider the reversed lens zooms even more, so at this focal range i should have about 4X magnification. Will post again with the new results, in the meantime i hope you like my photos, and advice is welcome.
I use 52mm extension tubes, your problem is that you use an 85mm lens and that is why the magnification is so low. You get higher magnification if you use a lens with smaller focal range like a 24 or 28mm and also used it reversed on the extension tubes. On lenses higher than 50mm is best to use the Raynox system or close-up lenses.
Very impressive, I have started with reverse lens macro photography a few weeks ago...I use old Sigma 24mm M42 reversed with some extension tubes, and I have about 4:1 magnification...just uploaded one image of jumping spider yesterday, and still waiting for aprooval...details with this magnification are great, but it is pretty shallow DOF.
