New Collections - Open for Suggestions

posted on 15th of august, 2012

I have just created three new collections, and I would like suggestions for additional images. I am also still taking suggestions for my other collections: Educational Tools and Stuffed Animals Interacting with the World. Details on these collections can be found in a previous blog. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Behind the Scenes - This collection shows the hidden side of objects, and helps us see things in new ways. Included are the strings and hammers of pianos, the inner gears of clocks and engines, and the platters and drive heads of hard disks. Any image that shows the inner workings of an object is a potential candidate for this collection.

Playground and Park Equipment - This is a collection of images depicting equipment found in parks and children's playgrounds. These images should focus on the equipment itself and should not show any children or adults using the equipment. This collection showcases swings, slides, jungle gyms, monkey bars and other items you would find in a park.

Path of Destruction - Texas Natural Disasters - This is a collection of editorial images showing the damaging power of nature in Texas. The wreckage from tornadoes, hurricanes, fires, and droughts are captured in this collection. Please remember that all images must be editorial and must be from Texas.

Jdanne, I added your telephone switch to the collection. I seriously considering adding your other images as well since they are very interesting views of the inside of vessels (ISS mockup and U-11). However, I think these might fit better in a different collection that shows places/things from a behind closed doors perspective rather than this one which shows more of the detailed inner workings of objects. Thanks for making me think more about the collection and how to better define it.

Brad, I've added your image. The description says it's a gear from an old punch card time clock. Could you tell us a bit more about it? Is this something that you just happened to have at home?

Dplett, I have added your image.

Digikhmer, the metal slide was already in the collection (as is its isolated counterpart), and I have added the other two you suggested as well.

Very nice image; it has been added to the collection. You may also want to add the following as keywords: gears, hand, hands, minute, second, & hour. (Dreamstime treats the singular and the plural forms of words as different words entirely, so both should be included when both are relevant. It works differently at some other agencies.)

Maybe this image fits into your 'Behind the scenes' collection.
