For the past several days I have not been able to upload any
photos to DT using their regular upload method. I have no
idea how to use the FTP uploads but understand it is much
more complicated and different. DT tells me that the issue is
due to the latest JAVA update. Suffice it to say this is extremely
frustrating. I wonder if any other DT photographer contributors
are having this problem? If so, does anyone have any easy
fixes or suggestions? Many thanks.

Hi Morgan,

I thank you for your response to my problem. You are most kind to have
taken the time to do so. Cheers!

Simple solution here!

Hi, I very much appreciate your writing and suggesting I try the FTP. I have to say that
I have read and re-read the FTP page repeatedly and it makes absolutely NO sense to
me whatsoever. The istructions are simply not easily comprehensible and when I try to
activate this FTP I have no luck whatsoever. I do not think that the DT instructions are
sufficiently clear for people like me who are not technologically oriented. That said, I am
glad you are able to use it and actually prefer it as I suppose it's a good system. Several
people have said the problem is with my Mozilla Firefox firewall and suggested that when I
wish to upload photos to DT that I simply turn it off. At this point I don't know what I should
do. It is all very frustrating.

I had the same problem and just followed the ftp instructions here: https://www.dreamstime.com/ftpinstructions/index.htm. It's not as complex as you may think, and I actually prefer it now that it's set up. Good luck.

To turn off the firewall go to control panel and click on windows firewall
and you can turn it on and off. I hope it will work for you. good luck.

Recently, every time I want to upload photos, I have to turn off the firewall and it works. try it.

I've had that same problem in the past. What I've done to fix it is go to www.java.com and download the latest version. The uploads work for a while and then I need to upload ANOTHER latest version. For some reason Java is constantly updating their versions and I believe that affects our ability to upload here.
