I am fairly new to photography, well officially, and since joining DT a year and a half ago have improved tremendously! My photography is a hobby, which I would love to make a career of someday, that I truely enjoy learning about and improving on. DT has assisted me in all of this along my journey.
My guess is that I am not the only one who has limited time available and any good photography resources would be helpful to. I have found a few of these resources that I just thought I would share:
www.Digital-photography-school.com : This site has an immense number of helpful articles to the new as well as advanced photographer. I have found them extremely helpful!
www.improvephotography.com :This site also has a great number of helpful articles as well as a recommended gear section that was great when I didn't know what I wanted.
Another mentionable resource is Adobe Photoshop Lightroom on facebook. They periodically have great articles and videos on tips/techniques.
Another helpful insight I gained this year is that while I was using Adobe Photoshop Elements, because I couldn't afford the full version, it was much better editing software than having none and I could do most of what I wanted with it. I did, however, take advantage of the "special" that Adobe promoted earlier this year for Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC for a very low monthly fee. This has proved to be amazing and the difference in my edit time has drastically reduced. I would suggest any newbie to invest in Lightroom. It has changed my life and part of the reason that last year(also my first year) I had 50 photos accepted and this year so far I have 107!
I hope that at least some find this helpful as I would have loved to have this list in the beginning!
