Travel the world with Dreamstime - Salar de Uyuni

The world's largest salt flat is located in the Potosí and Oruro departments in southwest Bolivia, near the Andes at an elevation of 3656m above sea level.
Let's see a few fun facts about this natural wonder:
The Salar is extraordinarily flat, the average altitude variation across it doesn't exceed one meter.
It becomes the largest natural mirror in the world when it's covered with water.
There are islands full of giant cacti in the middle of the salt ocean.
'Cementerio de trenes', the antique train cemetary, sits 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) outside the town of Uyuni. From the end of the 19th century till this day, Uyuni has been an important transportation hub for trains.
