The Portrait of the Animal

posted on 9th of january, 2017

Here I want to share some simple pictures of animals on black background. I do like it, because its focus is on a part of figure isolated from natural background. Though the animal is isolated from its natural surroundings whether it be a park, a zoo or a forest, these pictures somehow look “alive”. When I first saw that bison looking sideways and passing away from my vision field, I felt a bit disappointed that no worth pictures have made. However, being at home and checking the photos, his sad animal eyes hooked me. Thus, I croped the picture and separeted the animal on a passive background in order to segregate his gaze. As Theodor Adorno says, there is nothing so expressive as the eyes of animals, especially apes, which seem objectively to mourn that they are not humans (Adorno T., 1997,...

An Old Oak Tree

posted on 18th of january, 2017

That's an old oak tree with unknown history. Its massive trunk and expressive branches have enchanted our look. I would say nothing is holier, nothing is more exemplary than a beautiful, strong tree. And even more I adore it when it stands alone, like a lonely person or a sanctuary.

For most of us a tree trunk is something more than just a piece of wood as it is for a carpenter or woodcutter. We do not look at it as it is a material for furniture, oxygen or fuel. Trees looks like someone who shares their being...

The Three Sister‘s Chant

posted on 23rd of january, 2017

In "Macbeth" William Shakespeare uses the three witches characters, sometimes called as the weird sisters. The Three Witches represent evil, darkness, chaos, they appear with rain and thunder and their presence refers to treason and impending doom. Generally their role in Macbeth is approached as a philosophical question of destiny: Is Macbeth‘s life predetermined or is he a master of his own fate?
If the life of Macbeth is already determined, than the sisters are informing him on his future. On the other hand, if he is a master of his own fate, than the three wiches are manipulating him. It seems that a Shakespeare leaves this question open for the audience will.
Here‘s a short visual version of their chant scene :
