“Green Building” or sustainable buildings are used in construction industry, interior design, maintenance more and more and aspire to improve various objectives such as: energy efficiency, water efficiency, indoor air quality, local sourcing, and so forth. Each designer/architect and any engineers and/or builders involved in this process need to develop a good plan that clearly outlines their design criteria. But first and foremost these companies need to advertise, create sparkling websites, catalogs using simple and descriptive images. Images used in proposals helping to impress potential clients with professional bid proposals. And digital photos provide a fast, easy way to explain how to save energy.
Cars surround us everywhere. Cars have become a regular part of our lives. Cars are associated with traffic congestion, travel, weddings (limousine), insurance, sale, repairs and etc. Images of the cars are a big part of my portfolio.
I was lucky enough to join Dreamstime in January 2007. That time I was able to get several editorial images and have a pretty good exposure and sale. A lot of pictures in my portfolio have 5 (green) and 4 (blue) level of sale. I was uploading pictures approx. for 2 years. Then I stop. The money was deposited monthly to my account as a nice surprise for doing nothing. Recently, I uploaded more than 50 pictures (total 595 images). I do not have a problem with images acceptance ratio. However new pictures are practically invisible. See some of my latest pictures: ...
One of my pictures has been rejected recently due to the following reason: “Please, pay more attention to the skin and fingernail appearance of the model. Skin imperfections need to be corrected in post-processing in an unnoticeable way. When the model's hands are visible, ensure that the fingernails (and the skin around them) are aesthetically appealing”. It’s was funny. But it is a good lesson. Thanks to Dreamstime this person gets a free manicure:
No one wants to see dirty fingernails.. UNLESS.. they are suppose to be dirty for the image. Like say.. a hobo or homeless person... someone working in a garden or an old fashioned automobile mechanic.
