We (the general public) have the perception that these are troubled times in the world of medicine. The world always faces some dire conditions, and yet there always seems to be a new log for the fire. The added threat of H1N1 pandemic seems to be what keeps medicine an open topic at present, but let's face it... the struggle of health and wellness goes on with or without primetime coverage. I commend healthcare professionals everywhere for their fine work.

@Wildmac... great thoughts. I agree with pandemics (and other disasters) being the natural order of things. Just as much as I believe that our doctors and healers are the physical manifestation of our most basic instinct... self preservation. Use of our intelligence and the advancement of medicine is just our particular species' way of battling extinction. It may give us the unfair advantage, but in a way, it probably seems unfair to us that far simpler organisms can go dormant and reanimate. Of course, I wasn't really trying to get terribly existential... :)
I was thinking more along the lines of, "their quest continues whether the news covers it or not."
Cheers to you as well, my friend.

With a cursory glance into crime, investigation, and/or security/privacy, I see it's exceedingly easy to find a picture of a security camera. Come to think of it, the whole topic is covered from wildly abstract to completely cliche. The fun for me has been picking out a handful of images that excite. Ones that raise and eyebrow. Check them out. Add your own in the comments, and designers... do these fine contributors the honor of a download. You'll make their day.
My brother is pretty handy when it comes to computers, networking, and stuff of that nature. However, when he sets foot into my workshop, I feel that it's necessary to count his fingers on the way out, just to make sure he hasn't left anything behind. When he comes to visit, we'll almost invariably set up the cameras and strobes down in my workshop.
